Why are industrial rooftop inspections different?

Roof pitch, closely spaced panel rows, ventilation outlets and surrounding buildings affect survey planning. Chimneys and parapets may cast shadows at different times of day. The same thermal pattern may occur under environmental influences different from those at a ground-mounted plant, so roof geometry and the facility's operating conditions are assessed together.

The access advantage of drones

Aerial surveying may reduce the need to walk on roofs to collect images. Flight operations still require a risk assessment. Take-off and landing areas, staff movements, neighbouring structures, weather conditions and site permissions are considered before flight. Separate roof access may be necessary for electrical verification or repairs.

What is requested from the operator before surveying?

The initial assessment uses the facility's location, roof plan, installed capacity and responsible person's details. Critical production areas, access restrictions and operating hours should be shared. Flight timing is coordinated with the facility according to site conditions; poor weather or unsuitable irradiance may require rescheduling.

How is a rooftop PV report used?

Matching thermal anomalies to panel rows or an existing layout plan helps reduce the time maintenance teams spend searching on the roof. Shading and soiling findings are assessed separately from suspected electrical faults. The report provides the basis for a task list showing which checks should be carried out at each location.

Service scope and quotation

We plan industrial rooftop PV projects across Türkiye on a site-specific basis. Separate roofs, stepped heights and access conditions affect the time required. Including the number of roofs, approximate capacity and current maintenance needs in your quote request helps define the scope more quickly.

Information to prepare for a quote

  • Facility location, number of roofs and capacity
  • Roof layout plan and height information
  • Site access rules and operations contact
  • Production hours and known shaded areas
