Is the sky ready?
Plan your survey.

Select the province and district where your plant is located. Explore potential thermal survey times by considering sun, cloud, wind and rainfall forecasts together.

This weather planner covers site flights in Türkiye only. Remote reporting enquiries are welcome worldwide.

First, the right location.

Select the location of the plant to be surveyed, not where you live.

An approximate district location is used. Elevation, shading and local conditions at your facility may differ.

Solar elevationCloud coverWindRainfall

This is a preliminary planning tool, not flight or survey approval. Forecasts may change. Irradiance in the plane of the panels must be measured on site; a dry surface, stable sunshine, the aircraft's wind limit and flight permissions must also be checked.

How is this assessment made?

A “candidate window” is GES-TERMAL's preliminary screening approach, not a certificate of compliance with a standard. A window is identified when calculated solar elevation is at least 25°, forecast cloud cover is no more than 25%, average wind is no more than 18 km/h and forecast hourly rainfall is 0 mm. Hazardous weather symbols, strong gusts and missing or coarse-interval data are assessed separately. Thermal surveying at night or with a low sun is not recommended.

Solar elevation is calculated geometrically; it is not an irradiance measurement or an estimate in W/m². Thermal inspection measurement requirements, panel surface condition and safe flight conditions must be verified on site by the authorised team. Wind gust data may not be available for every location; missing data is identified separately. Further into the forecast, data may be at 6-hour intervals; these points are not presented as precise one-hour windows.

This tool does not permanently store your selections in your browser; approximate district coordinates are sent to the provider through the server to obtain a weather forecast.

Finding Details

Hotspot

Abnormal heating may indicate a problem requiring inspection. Its impact depends on the panel's condition and the system's operating conditions.

Bypass Diode Fault

Appearing as a strip in thermal analysis, this fault affects the panel's entire string and reduces overall performance.

Recommended Solution

The cause of the finding is verified first, then the need for maintenance, repair or replacement is assessed. Warranty procedures depend on the manufacturer's conditions.

BEFORE THE INSPECTION

Frequently Asked Questions

Brief answers about scope, measurement conditions and reporting.

What services does GES-TERMAL provide?

GES-TERMAL provides solar PV thermal analysis, solar panel fault investigations, industrial rooftop PV drone inspections and maintenance reporting. Compare service scopes.

Can a thermal drone identify every panel fault conclusively?

No. Thermal inspection identifies abnormal temperature distributions. Establishing the root cause may require site records, electrical measurements or other complementary tests. The scope and limitations of fault detection.

How is solar PV thermal analysis priced?

Site location, installed capacity, rooftop or ground-mounted configuration, layout, flight conditions and report detail are assessed. Comparable quotations require the same survey scope and deliverables. Explore the factors that affect pricing.

When should an inspection take place?

System operating status, irradiance, wind, passing clouds and reflections are considered together. The appropriate day and time depend on site conditions. The survey may need rescheduling when the required conditions are not met.

When is the report delivered and what does it include?

The final report schedule is agreed at the quotation stage based on site size and analysis scope. A report should include finding locations, images, measurement conditions and recommended checks. A guide to reading a thermal inspection report.

Which cities do you serve?

We are based in Ankara. We serve solar power plants across Türkiye according to site conditions and operational planning. You can share your project's location and capacity through our contact channels with us.

KNOWLEDGE CENTRE

Understand solar PV and thermal inspection

From the basics to maintenance decisions: start with the right questions.

01 / THE BASICS

What is a solar power plant?

GES is the Turkish abbreviation for a solar power plant. Photovoltaic panels convert sunlight into electricity; the inverter and connection components allow the system to work together.

Learn about the components and inspection needs →
02 / MEASUREMENT METHOD

What does a thermal camera show?

A thermal camera images infrared radiation. Temperature differences between panels may identify areas requiring inspection; measurement conditions matter when interpreting them.

Read how thermography works →
03 / MAINTENANCE DECISIONS

How do you read a good report?

The finding's location, survey conditions and recommended verification steps are considered together. A colour image alone is not a definitive fault diagnosis.
